First edition: 21–22 January 2026
The first edition of the 42 Perpignan Cybersecurity Days took place on 21–22 January 2026: a day of talks followed by a CTF (Capture The Flag). The challenge brought together 60 participants across around 30 teams, according to the campus recap.
My role
I co-organised the event with Yacine Sabri and gave a talk on why to get started in cybersecurity. The experience combined event organisation, knowledge sharing and technical practice, in keeping with 42’s peer-to-peer learning approach.
Cloé F.’s account of her experience as a speaker also reflects on the organisation and discussions.
From talks to practice
The talks offered several entry points into the field: networking, reverse engineering and buffer overflows, bug bounty, web penetration testing with Burp Suite, and tools and learning methods for beginners. The following day’s CTF gave participants an opportunity to put their knowledge into practice as teams.

Preparing the second edition
We are currently working on the second edition, continuing the project with further opportunities to meet and share cybersecurity knowledge.
